Current Favorites: Toddler Toys (3.5 and 2 Years Old)

And just like that, my babies are both big boys. I realize this is a relative term and they’re still very little, but it really feels like each month, they’re getting so much older and so much more able to do things on their own and play together. Over the past 6 months, we’ve really put away all the lingering “baby toys” and have moved into full blown monster trucks, dinosaurs, and sensory play times two. This phase has been really fun since they’re each really exploring the things they love.

At 3-and-a-half, TJ is as energetic as ever, loves to make people laugh, loves to learn, and is starting to try to read. He’s always loved big physical activities – running, jumping, swinging, you name it – and that hasn’t changed, he’s just gotten better at it so our activities have aged up a bit, too. Newly minted 2-year-old Jacob is still a little cautious when it comes to those big physically challenging activities – he’s much more of an observer. He loves coloring and drawing, naming the color of everything he sees, and carrying all his “friends” (stuffed animals) around the house, which is very unexpected since he has never been attached to a Lovey the way TJ has always been.

I’ve linked each of their favorite things below, and included links to each of our previous Current Favorites, too!
