2021 Intentions: Quality Over Quantity

Thinking back on 2020, one of the things I was looking forward to was dressing for myself and buying non-maternity non-nursing clothes. Well, 2020 had plans other than the bachelorette weekends and date nights I had imagined, but that didn’t stop me from adding to cart during more sales than I probably needed to. Looking forward to this year, I am planning on being much more intentional about my purchases.

I’m not sure when my daily outfit choices will include getting dressed for the office again, but I’m definitely planning to phase out at least some of the loungewear I’ve come to depend on. In doing that, I’m also going to hold myself accountable to shopping my closet as much as I can and only adding pieces that I am sure will be versatile, long-lasting, and are true to my personal classic style. Some of the newer-to-me brands I’ve grown to love, like Margaux and Dudley Stephens, are definitely investment pieces, but will carry from season to season and year to year.

I’m also planning on carrying “quality over quantity” through to the time I spend with my family. The combination of our boys’ ages and the limited availability of activities right now means that we’ve been learning to make the most of little adventures and getting creative with how to make ordinary weekend days feel special. I’ve also been focusing on spending as much one-on-one time with each of the boys as possible. Because they’re so close in age and they’re really into a lot of the same toys and activities, it’s easy to always do things with them together; but, they are very different people with very different needs. I am focusing on my individual time with TJ while Jacob naps, and Jacob is getting more one-on-one time now that TJ is back in preschool a few mornings a week, too.

I hope that when I look back on 2021, it will be a year full of quality time and a few quality purchases, too. As always, my outfit details are linked in LikeToKnowIt and be sure to Pin this post for later!

Happy New Year, friends!
