Five Things Friday: January 29th

Happy Friday, friends! This week flew by and felt like a really productive one in a lot of ways. I’m really focusing on my goal for this year of quality over quantity, and it’s been helping me keep perspective in a lot of situations I would normally become really stressed or anxious.

In an effort to keep a sort of running journal of this year and all the good things that I know are coming, I thought it would be fun to start a series highlighting five things that brought me joy each week. These lists will be a mix of fun activities we’ve done, things I’m looking forward to, health-related milestones, recipes we’ve enjoyed, and pretty finds that have brought me joy. I hope you enjoy and that some of these things bring you joy, too!

  • I started my first non-parenting book in over three years this week! This has been a goal for a while, but I haven’t made it a priority. I’m so excited to be reading Dare to Lead – I have a feeling I’ll finish it quickly and there will probably be a review post to follow!
  • I’m so excited for this dress that I snagged during the Tuckernuck sample sale to arrive. It may not be warm enough to wear it for a few months, but I can’t wait to style it and, eventually, wear it on repeat.
  • My boys have started playing hide and seek every night before bed, and it is literally the highlight of all of our days – watching them run down the hallway in fits of laughter and hearing sweet Jacob learn to count to ten warms my mama heart after even the most wearing of days.
  • I received a sweet gift card for my birthday last weekend, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to use it to purchase a Hill House dress. I’ve been thinking about how perfect this style and print would be for summer days, and I feel like it would be an investment piece that I would be able to wear for years to come.
  • I have an appointment with my neurologist next week – this might seem like a strange event to look forward to, but it will be my first in-person follow-up with her since I changed treatments a few months ago and, since I’ve been feeling so well, I’m truly hopeful about what she’ll say in terms of next steps.

I hope you all had at least five things that brought you joy this week and have an amazing weekend!
