Five Things Friday: March 19th

Happy happy Friday, friends! We’ve made it through another not-quite-Spring week here in New England, and warmer weather is just around the corner! We’re planning to get outside this weekend as much as we can and are looking forward to some exciting things coming up over the next few months.

On Instagram stories, I’ve been chatting a bit about some products I’ve recently started using to take care of my skin – better late than never, right? I’ve never been good at sticking to a regimen and the hormonal rollercoaster of pregnancy and breastfeeding has really done a number on my skin over these past few years. I’ve included a few of the products I’ve started using and things I’ve started doing to try to repair some of the damage (read: look less tired) and I will definitely be sharing more! Here are five things that we are loving and looking forward to this week:

  • Monster Trucks – This is not skincare-related….BUT we went to the Magic of Lights at Gillette Stadium back in November, so when we heard they were doing a similar drive-through experience featuring none other than our favorite vehicles, monster trucks, this Spring, we just had to get tickets. This weekend is the first weekend and we have tickets for bright and early Saturday morning. Stay tuned for, hopefully, two very excited boys!
  • Facial Steamer – You guys. This thing. Holy cow. As a lifelong pimple popper, squeezer, picker, you name it, I love things that can help get the yucky stuff that tends to accumulate especially around my nose and chin up out of my pores. I love this steamer because it truly makes me feel like I’m at a spa. The steam blows wide enough to cover your whole face, there are little baskets to add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, and it’s small enough to store easily.
  • True Botanicals Face Oil – I’ve been using this face oil for a few months now and absolutely love it! It makes my skin feel so smooth and I’ve really noticed a difference in the tone of my skin and way less redness, particularly in the morning. Through April, you can use code Boston15 for 15% off your first bottle of this miracle stuff!
  • Dermaplaning – I am obsessed. I had my first dermaplaning session a few weeks ago and my skin has literally never felt softer. One of the things I was not. prepared. for. was the peach fuzz that grows on your face after you have babies…please tell me this not a thing that has only happened to me….and it’s all gone thanks to this magical treatment! I can already tell this is going to be something I’m going to do again and again.
  • Jacob’s Second Birthday – This one is a few weeks away, but we’re starting a plan an actual real life party for our almost-2-year-old and I can’t wait to celebrate him. With all he’s been through in his first two years and the fact that we couldn’t celebrate at all last year when he turned one, he deserves the biggest bouncy house around. I can’t wait to share some of the exciting details of what we’re planning!

I hope you all have a beautiful first Spring weekend!
