Five Things Friday: February 5th

Well, this week was a doozy. Toddler meltdowns, snow storms that weren’t, and barking coughs galore. But, the good far outweighed the stressful this week, and for that, I am grateful. I hope you all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a restful weekend!

  • Tim got the second dose of his vaccine today! So far, so far good in terms of side effects but we’ll see how tonight and tomorrow go. I say, bring on the chills and body aches – go, immune response, go! I had an appointment with my doctor earlier this week, too, and it looks like I may be able to get my vaccine in the first wave of doses for the medically eligible. There is light at the end of this tunnel, friends!
  • My best friend got married this week and, while I couldn’t be there to stand next to her, I was able to see her the day before for some quality time together which was just what we both needed. I gave her a Le Creuset dutch oven as a “would have been your shower” gift and I can’t wait to see all the goodies she’ll make in it! Williams Sonoma is having a big sale on some Le Creuset styles and colors including the fry pan, casserole dish, and 6 3/4 qt. Dutch Oven so if you’ve been thinking about getting one, this might be a great time!
  • I have some realllyyyyyy exciting things planned for the Women in Science and Medical Mamas series. One is coming up in the next two weeks and I can’t wait to share with you all! It’s an IG first first for me and I’m sure I’ll stumble a bit, but I’m so excited to make this series a bit more interactive.
  • The New England Aquarium is reopening this weekend! We love the aquarium and it’s one of the places we’ve been talking about bringing the boys as soon we were able. The COVID protocols they have in place make the aquarium a great safe option for a weekend afternoon.
  • We started a new series last weekend called Your Honor and we are hooked! We are long-standing Bryan Cranston fans (duh) and, while I’m not usually one for a murder-related plot line, this show is so well-written and well-acted, I’m in. Even though we’re just sitting on the couch at home, having a next episode to look forward to after bedtime has been a great way for Tim and I to feel like we’re having more frequent date nights at home.

Happy happy weekend, friends.
xo,
Stephanie
